If you're making chicken and dumplings (or basically any main dish for that matter), then you also need baked apples in your life. These are easy and delicious. You'll have everyone asking for the recipe!

RECIPE

5 medium gala apples, cored with peel in tact

1 1/2 cups sugar

1/2 stick butter (cubed)

1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray an oven safe casserole dish with cooking spray. Place cored apples in dish. Cover with sugar and cinnamon. I'll be honest - I never measure my cinnamon. I just sprinkle it on until it looks about cinnamon-ey enough. Arrange cubed butter on top of mixture.

Cook 1 1/2 to 2 hours at 350 degrees. Baked apples can also be cooked in a crock pot on low for 8 hours or on high for 2 1/2 hours.
